Cloucomft Travel Pillow
The client is a leading supplier of memory foam travel pillows to airport stores. However, they have faced a high return rate with their existing products due to the uneven distribution of memory foam, which often leads to breakage at the thinnest areas.
To address this issue, I designed a travel pillow with a unique structure: instead of a single block of memory foam, the pillow is divided into five separate, interconnected sections. Each section is enclosed in its own individual fabric pocket, and all five are linked together by a flexible fabric sleeve. This modular design ensures that the memory foam is less prone to breakage, as each section is uniformly distributed and supported.
When wrapped around the neck, the five connected sections mold comfortably to the shape of the user’s neck, providing consistent support without the risk of pressure points or foam degradation. Additionally, this multi-section design offers versatility: it can be extended and used as a waist pillow or even a shoulder pillow, making it suitable for multiple uses during travel or relaxation.
Another key benefit is the compact, space-saving design. Because the foam sections are uniform in shape, they can be pressed or rolled into a smaller form, making it easier to pack and store in luggage.
